Using some extra jules (Julep's points system) I had laying around I redeemed for the A-List Eyeliner Duo which included Juleps Ink Gel Eyeliner and Angled Liner Brush. The little pot includes a hardened gel that is easy to pick up on the brush. The pot is smaller than other gel eyeliners I've tried before. The brush is a very fine chiseled cut perfect for making straight lines.
The pot may be small but wow! One swipe leaves a very deep black line that is very pigmented. Picking up the liner on the brush barely made a dent in the product so I can see why this and the brush are valued at $40.
The extra this month is Julep's Eye Sheen Liquid Eye Shadow. This box was unique because Julep allowed you to choose which Eye Sheen shade you wanted instead of just choosing one for you like previous boxes.
I went with Pale Nude. The pots are the same size as the small eyeliner, .15 fl oz. The product in the pot looks absolutely nothing like the smooth promo pictures but the color pay off was great. I also did a smudge test after it dried and there was no movement or smudging whatsoever.
My Classic with a Twist box included Greta and Octavia with Love as an extra in each box regardless of which style profile you went with this month.
Octavia is pure perfection. This is a deep indigo shade that was a one coater. Two coats are shown in the swatch just for good measure. The finish is super glossy. I could wear this shade everyday if I had to only pick one polish for the rest of my life.
Greta is a berry red shade with silver glitters. It was sheer with two coats so I went with three. I liked Octavia better but Greta is still a nice shade.
Last but not least is Love. Love is a gold topped Julep shade which marks it as limited edition. This is an opalescent shimmery base with small red glitters throughout. There is a slight sheerness to it still after three coats. This color could look killer over black or other shades. It gives your nails a gilded effect.
